Offered by Epic Rug Company
For sale is a beautiful, authentic hand-knotted Zanjan tribal rug from Northwest Persia (Iran). Measuring 190cm x 124cm, this "Zar-and-a-half" sized rug is a perfect example of mid-century village weaving, combining rugged durability with a bold, tribal aesthetic.
Design & Origin
Originating from the Zanjan province, this piece features a classic hexagonal central medallion with traditional "hooked" and "anchor" motifs. The vibrant color palette consists of deep madder reds, rich indigo blues, and crisp ivory accents, all framed by a detailed geometric border. Unlike factory-made rugs, this was crafted by a village weaver on a traditional loom using the robust Symmetrical (Turkish) knot.
Condition & Professional Care
This rug is offered in excellent vintage condition. To ensure it is ready for immediate use in a high-end home, it has recently undergone a full professional service:
- Professional Deep Clean: Hand-washed by specialists to revive the natural lanolin in the wool and brighten the colors.
- Stain Protection: Treated with a professional-grade stain guard to protect against spills.
